Doing Life Together
The "Other Communities" section encompasses various initiatives within the church aimed at fostering community engagement and service that we didn't know where else to put. The LOVE Quilts group, meeting on Tuesdays, diligently crafts quilts from donated materials to aid Lutheran World Relief's global humanitarian efforts. Seeking donations of blankets, cotton fabric, sheets, and thread, they extend an invitation for remote participation to those unable to attend in person. Joyful Service Sundays offer monthly committee meetings, encouraging active involvement in shaping church activities across hospitality, growth, and management spheres. LIFT Ministry beckons individuals passionate about community outreach to join in knitting together the church community through relational connections and mutual support. These initiatives collectively embody the spirit of service, creativity, and togetherness within the church's broader mission.
LOVE Quilts
The quilting group makes quilts throughout the year to be distributed by Lutheran World Relief in areas of the world with the greatest need. In 2023, Lutheran World Relief distributed almost 600,000 quilts, school kits and health kits. The LOVE Quilts group meets on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00-3:00. We cut fabric, sew and assemble the quilts in a space dedicated to this ministry. The LOVE Quilt group is looking for the following items:
- Gently used double size (or larger) blankets
- Cotton fabric (no polyester)
- Cotton sheets
- Thread
If you are not able to join us on Tuesdays but have an interest in sewing or cutting fabric from home, please contact Lisa Hartge at the church, and we will make arrangements to get materials to you.
Joyful Service Sundays
Join us at our monthly Joyful Service Sunday committee meetings! Every first Sunday, between services from 10-11 am, we gather to plan and shape key aspects of our church family. Choose from three dynamic committees: Hospitality for community events, Sarah's Tent, and service opportunities; Growing for music, worship, Christian education, youth, and family; or Management for property, upkeep, finances, and more. Your involvement is a valuable contribution to the thriving spirit of our church. We look forward to your participation and the unique perspectives you bring to our community. See you there!
LIFT Ministry
